How To Make... Dahl

Dahl is a classic Indian dish so it definitely deserves a place on Rishi's Kitchen. We hope you enjoy this recipe.


300g Red lentils

1 Chopped onion

1 Chopped garlic

1 Green chilli

1 tbsp Turmeric

1 tbsp Garam masala

Fresh coriander to serve.

Step One:

Rinse the lentils in fresh water until the water runs clear.

Step Two:

Put the lentils into a large pan that is filled with water and bring to the boil. Simmer for 20 mins.

Step Three:

In a separate frying pan, add some oil and fry the onions till caramelized. Add the chopped garlic and the chilli.

Step Four:

Add the turmeric and garam masala and cook for a minute or two.

Step Five:

Tip the contents of the frying into the pan with lentils. Cook until the lentils are nice and tender.

Step Six:

Season with salt.

Step Seven:

Garnish with chopped coriander.
